As a local HK-er who spent a decade abroad, Gerald was able to pick up English and Mandarin Chinese by actively learning and practicing a foreign tongue. In this class, he will share his secret.

Specialty: Setting a solid foundation in correct enunciation of words in English. Fixing typical accents from Cantonese and Mandarin speakers.

Course Info

Our phonics course is developed to help children master basic Phonics in English.

The main objective of the course is to nurture your child's interest in English and help you learn the sounds of each letter, formation of letters, blending of sounds, and identifying syllables in words.
After completing the entire course, children will be able to understand the alphabetic code used in writing and reading English.

Dynamic Phonics (2-6 year olds typically complete a level in 10 sessions)

  1. Getting to know English Alphabets: A-Z & a-z
  2. Level I - A, E, C, D, H, I, K M, N, P, S, T, R
  3. Level 2 - G, U, O, L, F, B, V, J, W, X, Y, Z, Q
  4. Level 3 - Basic Sound Blending: Consonant + short vowel + consonant (e.g. cat, men, fog, got, run)
  5. Level 4 - Consonant Blends: br, cr, bl, fr, cl, sk, sm, sp; ch, sh, wh, ph, th; ct, ck, ft, lt, ld, nd, sk, mp, rd.
  6. Level 5 - Consonant Clusters: squ, str, scr, spr, shr. Long Vowels: ai, ay, a_e, ee, ea, e, ie, igh, y, i_e, oa, ow, o_e, ui, ue, ew, u_e
  7. Level 6 - Diphthongs: ar, er, ir, ur, oi, ou, oy, ow, au, aw, oo, or, ore, eer, ear, are, air
  8. Level 7 - Prefixes, Suffixes, Tricky English Words, Compound Words.


Standard rates: $150 per hour
If 2 students sign up to the same timeslot , $100 per hour for each student.
