My very first experience as a French teacher was in Montreal, Canada. After a teaching formation, I worked for the association Collège Frontière (language teaching association which has for objective to give people the skills and confidence they need to reach their potential and contribute to society). I was responsible for a class of 17 adult beginner students from the Chinese community. This was quite a challenge since only two of them were able to speak English! I had to use my creativity and to build very interactive and living classes. I think that this first experience had a big impact on my way to teach, notably my use of daily situations and examples. More recently, I worked as an online French teacher for the language school AE Multilingue, located in Peru. I was responsible for 8 adult students, also beginners. The objective was to guide them through the different steps of learning French while exploring various themes. This experience gave me the opportunity to develop my online teaching skills and to explore all the possibilities it offers.

Course Info

The first very important thing while learning a language is to have fun! I am doing my best to make my students love learning. I like to use situations and dialogs to make the classes as living as possible, and I adapt the lessons to the needs of each student. I also use my knowledge in psychology and neuroscience to make it as easy as possible for the student to assimilate new vocabulary and to understand grammar rules. I also help my students developing their own learning strategies and abilities. It is also very important to make the course as interactive as possible, since it is the best way for the student to learn and to become autonomous!

The learning objectives may vary depending on the student's needs but here are globally what we will focus on:

  • Being able to read and understand relevant texts.
  • Being able to follow and understand a normal-pace daily-life conversation.
  • Being able to construct correct sentences.
  • Being at ease while speaking French.
  • Special focus on the pronunciation! 

More precise and personalized objectives should be defined at the beginning of the course depending on the student (children/adult, level, context, personal objectives, etc.).
